Out now

SWAP is out — our third game is on Google Play

On 29 September SWAP went live on Google Play: a sweet match-3 on a floating island, with fifty levels, no lives, no timers and nothing for sale.

Published

SWAP has been on Google Play since 29 September 2026, as version 0.1.0. That makes three MiniScape games in under three weeks: Shift on 11 September, LOOP on the 23rd, and now this one.

The SWAP banner from Google Play: the app icon — the little robot swapping a pink heart on a board of sweets — beside the SWAP wordmark and the line "Swap. Match. Pop."
The banner on the store listing. Swap, match, pop — the whole game in three words.

What you are getting

A match-3, and I know what that word makes people expect. The game itself is the familiar one: swap two neighbouring sweets, line up three of a colour and they pop, and everything above falls into the gap. Four in a row leaves a rocket, an L or a T a bomb, five in a row a prism — and two specials swapped into each other go off together.

The first level of SWAP: a board of sweets on a garden island, with the goal on the level card.
The first level. The card says what it wants from you.
A special going off in SWAP, with the word on the board that a good combo earns.
Make two specials, then swap them into each other.

There are fifty hand-made levels in five worlds — a garden, an orchard, a coast, a starry night and a crystal cave — and each world brings one new thing to the board: glaze to polish off, crates that hold up a column, locked pieces, and little robots that ride down with the sweets and walk home. Every level asks for something within a set number of moves, and those numbers come from a bot that played each level ten times.

Harbour Wall, a SWAP level on the coast: a row of crates across the middle of the board, with the goal on the level card.
The coast. A row of crates holds up everything above it until a match beside them breaks one open.
A SWAP level in the starry night: a board of sweets on a dark blue island, with a little robot riding down among them.
The starry night. The robots drop in with the sweets and walk home from the bottom row.

What it does not do

This is the part I care about most, because it is exactly where games like this usually start asking for money. SWAP has no lives, so a lost level costs you nothing but another go. Nothing counts down between attempts and nothing waits for you to come back. The boosters — a hammer, a free swap, a shuffle and five extra moves — are earned by playing well, and there is no shop to buy them in.

No ads, no in-app purchases, no account, no network call; your progress stays on your own phone. Every piece has a shape as well as a colour — hearts, diamonds, cubes, stars, hexagons and drops — so the board reads without telling the colours apart. And after the fifty levels there is a puzzle a day, the same board for everyone, and an endless run of generated boards.

What I would ask of you

The same as with Shift and LOOP: play a few levels and say what you think in the Play Store. A review, even a short one, does more for a small game than anything I can put on this site. And if a level feels unfair, I would rather hear it there than not at all.
